How to apply for learning licence online in Andheri RTO Mumbai Maharashtra

Hello Friends,

There is a change in the process of applying for learning licence in Andheri RTO Mumbai from 30th Dec 2013.

So starting 2014 all new learning licence process in Andheri RTO goes online.

A candidate has to take appointment online and have to go to RTO at prescribed time with set of documents required.

Lets have a look at how this process works.

Only up to 350 appointments are allotted each working day, for the various time slots between 9.30 a.m. to 3.30 p.m. The applicant can choose date & time as per their convenience by submitting the filled in e-form provided. On successful submission of e-form, the applicant will get an acknowledgment on his email id.

How to download Learning Licence Forms and appointment receipt ?
On receiving the confirmation email from Regional Transport Office, Andheri (West Zone), the applicant should download the following:

• Appointment Receipt
• Form No. 2
• Form 1 (Physical fitness declaration)
• Form 1-A (Medical certificate to be certified by a medical practitioner
   having educational qualification not below M.B.B.S., only in case of application for Transport Licence &  for the transport having age above 50 years).

After downloading the above documents, applicant should fill up the relevant information and affix relevant signatures at the places mentioned on these forms.

The applicant should remain present at the Regional Transport Office on the date and half an hour prior to the allotted time slot.

Applicant should carry the mentioned forms in original along with copy of the following:

• Appointment (Token number) receipt.
• Proof of address, age, nationality documents.
• Two passport size photographs.

How to cancel the appointment ? 
If an applicant wants to cancel their appointment, they could cancel the same 48 hours prior to their allotted appointment; they can choose the “cancel appointment” and proceed. If the applicant wishes to postpone their appointment, they need to first cancel the earlier appointment and then choose a new date.

How to go through Learners Licence procedure ?
On getting confirmed online appointment for Learners Licence, applicant will have to remain present at the Learner Licence section, Ground Floor of the new building, half an hour prior to the allotted time. Applicant will then have to go through the following steps:
(A) Verification of documents and physical fitness declaration i.e. eye vision, color blindness etc.
(B) Payment of fees
(C) Data entry
(D) Biometrics (Digital photographs, signature, thumb impression capturing)
(E) Road safety education and test preparation
(F) Online computer test of preliminary knowledge of Traffic signs etc. (20 questions - objective test on screen)

Rejection or issuance of licence is done on spot, based on your test results.

Issuance of Learning Licence 
Once the test results are declared, only those who have scored 12 or more points are declared passed, those who have failed may reappear for the test, after 7 days from the date of the test.

Successful candidates will receive their Learner Licence within 10 minutes and on the spot. The learner licence holder should appear for the test of competence for obtaining the permanent licence after 30 days and within 6 months from issue of Learner Licence. LL is valid for 6 months and cannot be renewed. On expiry of the Learner Licence, the holder will have to re-apply for new learners licence.

All applicants having jurisdiction under the Regional Transport Office, Andheri (West Zone) are hereby requested to make best use of the newly implemented appointment system and assist this office in creating a transparent and efficient licence system based on eligibility.

Track status of US visa online


MUMBAI: The United States embassy on Friday announced the launch of a new tool which allows all visa applicants to verify the status of their case online 24x7. The new system called CEAC status check can be accessed at https://ceac.state.gov/CEAC/ - "Check My Visa Application Status".

Applicants simply enter the CEAC barcode or case number and the location where the interview occurred to check the status of their visa. This new CEAC Status Check replaces any previous status tracking websites.

In a statement, the embassy said this tool also offers better customer service to visa applicants and continued transparency in our processing. This initiative follows other recent enhancements, including offsite fingerprinting and photography services and the expanded Interview Waiver Program.

Things to check before buying a second Hand- Used Cars

*1)Number of previous owners?

*2)Type of Registration: Private or Tourist?

*3)RTO where the car is Registered : If you are not staying under that RTO you need to Transfer it from the old RTO to the Nearest RTO you stay. Which also requires NOC by the old RTO.

*4)Year of Registeration?

*5)No. of Kilometers Travelled?

*6)CNG or without CNG ? (If CNG, Does it have a Record on the RC Book)?

7)If the car was ever involved in an accident?

Check RC Book *8)Blue book( Registration Certificate)-  Check if it is a duplicate or not.
Check Engine No and Chasis number are matching with the Numbers in the Registration Papers. Check the state of registration, mentioned in the papers.

9)Insurance Certificate- This is the most important certificate of the car. Check for any prior accidents claims. This certificate is a must for any transfer by RTO.

10)Road Tax: Ensure that the seller gives you the papers related to road tax or clears all payments before he sells the car to you.

*11)Car Color : whether it is chnaged or not and if changed is it entered in the R.C Book(Registeration Certificate).

12)Previous owner took the car on Loan?

13)If you are planning to buy a used car that was bought on finance by the seller, remember to collect the following documents in addition to the above-mentioned ones. Try to get the original invoice of the car from the owner.

14)NOC (No Objection Certificate): NOC issued by the finance company. This document ensures that the finance company has no claim on the car anymore.

*15)Check AC condition
(While having a Test Drive Try to use the AC and Drive it on Low Gears to get good Idea about AC. If the AC is not in good condition its cooling goes down after running for 15-2-0 mins)
Check the AC by taking a round in the afternoon, check how it functions with a/c on / off climbing a slope.

Misc. check:
16)Any previous mechanical problems

17)Check For Audio System/Music System

18)The maintenance history of the car

19)If the Tyres are not in a good condition, there is a chance of bargaining for up to 1000 rupees. Look for the wear and tear and also the alignment. Check bushings, springs and sounds from the bearings. Wheel bearings can be expensive.

20)Check for Lights Front and Reverse

When you Pay:
Form 35: You must keep a copy of this form duly signed by the financier.
Take a Recipet from the Seller with a Revenue stamp with details of the car and AMount you bought it for Personal Record Purpose.
Give him a copy of the same so that he has the record that after this you will be solely responsible for the Car.

BEST and Railways Lost and Found Mumbai Contact Details




Mumbai has one of the best public transport systems in the country. Local trains and BEST buses criss-cross across the city and its nodal cities, Thane and Navi Mumbai . Then there are the black and yellow local taxis and autorickshaws. All in all, the public transport facilities are a real boon to commuters!

What happens if you forget your personal property in one of the trains or in a bus or taxi? Forgetfulness is a standard trait of many people, no less of commuters. Leaving a shopping bag in a taxi or a briefcase in the overhead luggage rack in the train has increasingly become a common feature.

Don’t despair though! Here’s how to locate your lost property:

1. Property lost on the Western Railway (WR) trains
:
* Contact the Railway Protection Force (RPF) @ : 23004000
* You can also get in touch with the Station Master or the Government Railway Police.
* An item that is not claimed within 7 days is sent to the main Lost Property Office at Grant Road station, where it will be auctioned after 15 days.

2. Property lost on the Central Railway (CR) trains :
* For items lost in trains to and from Lokmanya Terminus at Kurla, contact the Lost Property office. Call @: 67462621 / 67462618
* An item that is not claimed within a month gets shifted to the Wadi Bundar Goods Depot near Sandhurst Road station. Call @: 67455426
* For items lost in other CR trains, you could locate it within 1 month at the Lost Property Office at the CST cloakroom near Platform 13 at the Chhatrapati Shivaji Terminus. Call @: 67455127

3. Property lost on a BEST bus :
* An item left behind on a bus is tagged by the bus conductor with the date/time/bus route no./signature of the bus conductor. It is then deposited at the BEST Lost & Found department at Wadala, opposite Ambedkar College. Call @: 24128596
* Remember to mention the bus route when calling about your lost property.

4. Property lost in a black and yellow Taxi :
* An honest taxi driver will deposit an item left behind by a passenger at the Mumbai Taxi Union (MTU) office in Mumbai Central.
